What can I do for you?

Welcome to my website. My name is Jo Wadsworth, and I have just set up as a freelance journalist after more than a decade working in newspapers and online news.

So how can I help you?

Journalism – news, features, blogs, digital journalism

Social media – setting up accounts, building audience, making your message visible

Copy editing – if your copy needs a clean-up, I have my subbing Marigolds at the ready

Web editing and design – I know my way round a CMS and can turn my hand to basic web design if needed too

About me

Career highlights have included relaunching the Croydon Advertiser’s website and doubling traffic in the process, covering the London bombings in July 2005 for the Evening Standard, and more recently driving the Brighton Argus website to become one of the most lively, innovative and successful regional news sites in the country.

My proudest moment though was probably when a photo I tweeted of Nick Cave helping a German unicyclist juggling with fire was named Popbitch’s Nick Cave spot of 2012.

Since first dipping my toes into Twitter in 2008, I have been at the forefront of exploring how social media can work to grow audience and a network of contacts. My @BrightonNewsJo account has more than 10,000 followers and I have also helped build a following of more than 5,000 on Facebook for the Argus.
